The Fellowship hosts two national events: the annual Music & Worship Arts Week and a biennial national convocation.
Wondering which event is right for you?
Music & Worship Arts Week, held at Lake Junaluska Conference & Retreat Center in North Carolina, is a week-long event designed for those who want to participate by dancing, ringing, singing, and/or acting. Work with top-level leadership in age-level choirs, handbell choirs, and dance and drama groups. Inspiring worship services, choral reading sessions, and seminars round out the schedule.
The Biennial National Convocation is for those who want to learn about worship arts in new and exciting ways. Large group lectures (plenaries), concerts, and worship services are the backbone of this event. While not heard to active participation, classes offer practical helps in various arts ministries and will inspire you to create, not just re-create. This event is an excellent opportunity for preachers, musicians, and worship artists to attend an event together and multiply the effect back home.
In addition to our two national events, our Chapters host a variety of events at the regional level, ranging from festivals to workshops to retreats and everything in between.
Music & Worship Arts Week is a multi-generational event hosted by The Fellowship in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina at Lake Junaluska. This annual event is designed for worship leaders, musicians, artists, dancers, actors, and pastors of all denominations who seek education and renewal in a spirit of inclusivity and grace. We welcome all.
Our 2020 event website is now live; registration will open soon.
The Fellowship of United Methodists in Music & Worship Arts invites you to join a unique gathering of musicians, dancers, visual artists, preachers, all seeking to serve God’s people by designing and leading participatory worship experiences. It’s a week filled with seminars and workshops that will allow you to learn and grow in your ministries as well as moving worship experiences and (of course!) fellowship.
Visit our 2019 event website for additional information and registration.
Our Fellowship Chapters are a great connection point for members at the regional level. Our chapters host events ranging from choral and handbell festivals to day-long workshops and retreats.
The Fellowship invites musicians, artists, preachers, and worship leaders to gather in local congregations for practical workshops on specific topics led by skilled practitioners. Hearts, Hands, and Voices workshops are for those who serve in congregations of all sizes and contexts, each with their own challenges and opportunities. Hearts, Hands, and Voices is in collaboration with our colleagues in the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians (ALCM).
