Vice President of Community
The Vice President of Community maintains oversight of the Community Working Group and all its tasks, convening meetings of the Working Group at least monthly. This group is charged with addressing chapter, membership, and fellowship/community-related concerns of The Fellowship, as well as other issues as assigned by the Executive Board. The Community Working Group includes the Vice-President of Community, the Chapter Coordinator, the Membership Coordinator, and other committee leaders or at-large members as needed.
Bodie serves as Pastor of Music and Worship to Westbury United Methodist Church, one of Houston’s most culturally diverse congregations. He has served in full-time ministry for over 10 years, growing comprehensive worship and music programs with vision for outreach and Christian formation. Bodie is active in serving with various boards and community ministries seeking to embody grace to the city of Houston, the Texas Annual Conference, and our United Methodist denomination. Bodie has performed five seasons with the Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble Conspirare, appearing on recording projects and touring internationally. He holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Church Music studies from Baylor University and the Master of Divinity degree from George W. Truett Theological Seminary. And, in November 2018, Bodie surrendered his formal United Methodist membership as a layperson to fulfill his calling to ordained ministry, with credentials held by Covenant Church in Houston, a congregation affiliated with the American Baptist Church and the Alliance of Baptists. Bodie lives in the Heights neighborhood of Houston with his spouse, Marc.
