Director of Choral and Music Ministries, half-time (20-25 hours/week)
Salary: $30-$35,000 (negotiable depending on degree and experience); no benefits.
Educational & Experience Requirement: Bachelor’s degree minimum. Experience in choral direction and arranging, preferably with Christian music. Ability to perform and lead various styles of music. Leadership ability, and the ability to work with and inspire volunteers. Keyboard/piano skills for teaching music or leading congregational singing preferred.
General Purpose of Position: To be and make disciples of Jesus Christ, a person who leads from a place of spirituality and faith, rather than a performance.
Job Responsibilities: Plan music for all regular, seasonal, festival and summer Sunday Traditional worship services in cooperation with the pastoral staff. Attend staff meetings (preferred), attend Worship Committee meetings, and work with the worship ministry team. Develop music budgets, maintain music licenses, and oversee the upkeep of music instruments. Recruit and coordinate guest musicians and musical groups. Provide guidance to those directing the Praise Team (Contemporary), Gospel Choir, Youth, and Children’s choirs.
COVID Considerations: Services are virtual and in-person with strict CDC requirements. Only one service currently held in sanctuary.
