Job Description:

Christ United Methodist Church is a vibrant, growing faith community in the heart of Southern Village in Chapel Hill, NC. We are currently accepting resumes for our Contemporary Worship Leader position, which is part time.

This person functions as the primary worship leader at our 8:30 contemporary service, a service that while traditional in liturgy incorporates the freshness of new musical expression.

The person best-suited for this role will:

  • Have deep faith in Jesus Christ
  • Have some grasp on the scope of Wesleyan/Methodist Theology (strongly appreciated)
  • Be able to lead congregational singing vocally
  • Play a primary instrument (guitar or piano)
  • Have a collaborative spirit and a willingness to work with others
  • Prior experience leading contemporary/praise and worship music is strongly appreciated

Highly-appreciated skills include:

  • Knowledge and aptitude with ProPresenter and Song Select
  • Working knowledge of sound equipment
  • Musical composition and arranging

Working days: Sunday + Rehearsal (time/day can be flexible), holy days (Christmas Eve, Holy Week, etc.)

Hours: 8-10

Pay Range: $150-200 per week
