Job Description

This is a full-time position, responsible for developing and coordinating all aspects of the Contemporary and Traditional Worship Services in support of the weekly messages. The Director of Music Ministries will lead the members and guests of Wilmington Island United Methodist Church in praise and worship of God through various musical and creative elements.

WIUMC ( is a family of faith, located on a barrier island on the coast of Georgia, seeking to increase participation in worship through a vital music ministry.

Abilities required in contemporary and traditional music leadership in vocals, instrumentation, developing musical personnel: Praise Band, Chancel Choir, Handbell Choir, Children’s choir, and various ensembles.

We seek a person, male or female, having a Christ-centered life exhibited through personal faith and worship. We desire a person with a degree in a music related field; a firm history of music leadership and directing; a good oral and communication skills; ability to be a team player collaborating with various staff and members; a person with experience in lighting/sound/technical knowledge.

Salary: Compensation will be negotiated based on education, experience and skill, in the monetary range of $60,000.
